GODMOTHER

Pictured: Male in white tank top is my cousin Billy, Liam's uncle. The male in the blue striped polo is my father. In the green top, we have my mother. In the black t-shirt is Darren, Liam's father. Red striped dress, Malvina, Liam's "momma" as he calls her. In the first picture with the brown tank top, is my mama (grandmother) Maria, she was the one saying the prayers and pouring the water. And of course we have the little man of the hour, Liam. You can also see a piece of my fiancee in the background lol.

For my non-latino readers (correct me if I am wrong in singling us out) what you see in the pictures above are not child abuse, I swear. It is a custom called "Bautismo de Agua" or "Hecharle Agua" it translates to "Throw water." Google translate for ya'll here. This was not really planned, which explains how everyone is kind of grouped together like that. It was kind of hectic especially since Liam was crying his little eyes out. The godparents are myself (oh and thats me in the mustardish top), and my cousin (Malvina/Liam's mami's brother.) He happened to be in Pennsylvania, so we took advantage of that and handled our business. The older generation of our family which includes; all of our parents/grandparents, believe that you cannot cut the child's hair until this (points up) is done. Le sigh. All of the young adults just agree, because we all know you can't argue with grandma! Especially not about something that is so meaningful for them. And heck, I'll probably keep the tradition alive with my future kids. When we left, my fiancee Joe, tells me, "I don't know what was going on in there, but we're not doing that to our kids." I couldn't help but laughed, but once I explained the circumstances he changed his mind.

Other than that, my day started off pretty early. I won't say whats considered early to me, because I think I would get whacked in the head. At least thats what my oldest brother does to me. Let me put it like this, I love my sleep. I am the type that if I wake up a minute before my alarm (cringe) goes off, I will get that extra minute in. Yeah, so I woke up early because my parents both had appointments with their doctor. I actually liked the fact that I went with them, because I got the doctor to order some overdue tests on my mother. Mami wasn't thrilled, but she understands why they have to be done.

Sheesh, it was hot today. Its still hot now! I can complain, because you never hear me saying "I cant wait till the Summer comes!" I enjoy Spring, and Autumn. Winter and Summer can go to Mars for all I care.

Today went by super quick! I don't know if it was just me. I went and got another massage in the hospital in honor of Nurse's Week (for free!) and it was better this time around. I am sticking to eating the lunches that I bring. It was hurting my body and my check, eating from the cafe! Enjoy the day, it's been a lovely one here. I hope to update with pictures for Friday. Work, Rain, and Polish

Hello! It is now May! I know my boyfriend is probably hoping that with the end of April, comes the end of the rain. But nope! It's predicted to rain for the entire week lol. I don't mind it though, I enjoy the rain and the way it forces most people to stay off of the streets and relax and not do anything. Well, me anyway lol. Then I get the "It's raining? Oh well, still time to ____ (insert outdoor task)"

I am now, two weeks in at my new job. And I must admit, that as scared as I was to be doing something new, I am happy with my decision. I am slowly turning into a morning person! Gasp! I would always be grumpy and not in the mood, but going to bed at 9pm and waking up at 6am is not as bad as I thought it would be. We tend to be so busy at work, that time just flies by. I did however go to my old full time job's annual banquet last Thursday. It was very interesting. The food wasn't too good in my opinion, but then again I am battling a cold, so it could've been that. I left right after the main speaker did her thang. It was nearing my bed time, and I knew that if I stayed 'til the end, I would've been kicking myself on the ass the next day. This Wednesday, I'll be going back there for about 2.5 hours. That'll be my Wednesday routine. It may not be a great amount of money, but I have plans with that extra income.

As employees we each are "CEO's" of something. I haven't been assigned anything yet. But, there's this lady that's in charge of keeping the work enviroment "fun", and she had us guessing how many things were in the egg, I guessed 35 and there were 37, I won. And, then there were these eggs in random places, you'd match the number to the prize and get something work, office related, like pens, pads, etc.



This chinese spot is yummY! Reminds me of food court from the mall chinese. I don't like chinese food anymore, I only like the mall kind. It's different. So, I enjoyed this. And the place was pretty, and there were actual waiters.



Myself, on Thursday, after the banquet. I curled my hair, and pinned it to the side.

Spring,Scrubs, and Cake

Ah, this month has been a busy one. I have been preparing for my new job, which I actually have orientation for at the hospital tomorrow. It's classroom setting, and they'll provide us with lunch. My first official day will be on Tuesday. New bedtime? 9 pm--Eeek! But, I'm happy for TiVo lol.

I thank God for having blessed me with great bosses and co workers throughout the years. Many of them that have really cared about me, and vice versa. On Thursday they had a lunch for me. Turkey wraps, and other kinds of wraps, pasta salad, fruit salad, juice, and the best of all, my co worker had a red velvet cake made for me. They also signed a card for me, and my boss handed me an envelope which had a $50 Red Lobster gift card inside (they know me too well!) Friday was my last day, and all that I did was clean the office that was mine for the past 3 years 1/2. When I first got to it it was a mess! But, I left it in great condition. When I left I personally said bye to each and every staff member. Shared hugs and memories. My work mom, the one that had the cake made for me even teared up. If I hadn't cried and let it all out a few weeks ago, I would've been a mess! But, it was time. I will still be there on Wednesday evenings, for a short amount of time. In all honesty, I love the co workers, work, the cause, and most of the clients. I won't start back up until May.

I have been shopping for scrubs, and I bought a decent amount. Best believe I will be putting those on my taxes next year lol. I hope everyone is doing well, and enjoying the weather. It's been raining, but what else is expected for the month of April? I don't mind it one bit!

Snow and Pranks

Hola! I hope everyone had a good week : ) Our weekend will be spent away from home because, off to New York we go tomorrow to help celebrate our little nephew/god son's 3rd birthday. I plan on taking my camera with me and putting it to use.

Oh and snow on April 1st? Ha, mother nature's such a show off!





Speaking of April 1st did any of you play any good pranks on someone? Or vice versa? I love to play pranks. I remember one year it was boys against girls at my house when my cousins were over. Malvina and I (my cousin) were going hard on my brother and her brother lol. We got them good though:

We took some oreos, opened them and put salt and vinegar in the center (the vinegar helped dissolve the salt, and helped glue the cookie back together). So, we handed one safe cookie to her little sister Genesis, and told her to take a plate of the bad oreos upstairs. We knew the greedy boys wouldn't resist. We spied from the stairs as she walked in chewing the safe cookie, while they were playing a game system. She didn't even have to offer them any when they said "Yo, pass those over." When they bit into it, AHHH I still remember their faces lol. They were like *Ugly face* "Yooo these cookies are nasty!" And my cousin and I started to crack up. They admitted it. We got them. And we got them good lol. That was just 1 of the ways hahaha. If you try this on someone, record it lol and youtube that puppy. I wish youtube would've been around then lol. Mala? Nah. Traviesa? Claro que si! Lol. Well my loves, off I go. Enjoy your weekend!
