Tick Tock

So much has happened. I am sure that I am not the only one that knows how drastically things can change in a matter of days, hours, minutes--you get the point.
4/3/2013 Move out of the apartment into the house.
4/16/2013 Got laid off from work.
4/23/2013 Stressed out and emotionally unstable. Thankful for all of the support from my friends and family. I am putting on my brave face, but inside I am a mess. I trust God, and he must have a great plan for me. Even if I cry, and waiver, I trust You.

These are a few of my favorite things...

This week was my last week on "orientation", which means that on Monday, I will be on my own. Well, if I ever have questions, I have other unit clerks to ask, but you know what I mean. Right? I have had a lot of practice in the Trauma side of thangs. I have seen three deaths, ages from just being born, three, and seventeen. All very, very sad. May they all rest in peace.

Other than that, things have been good on my side of the world. It's that time again to have little visits with my dentist. Take care of your teeth people! Nasty teeth, and breath is not cute. Another important thing that I did this week, was go to my college, and started my financial aid process. Some things have changed, like, you can no longer use your tax paperwork that the preparer gives you, you need a transcript from the IRS. Que? What? Smh. But, whatever, I requested mine, and it should be here some time next week. I just wanted to get this over with, and register for my classes. I like having first dibs, and having the schedule of my choice. Yep. Cause I'm a princess. Lol I kid, I kid!

I leave you with a few pictures. They are all of some of my favorite things. Enjoy, and have a great week!

This bad boy is so good to me!

Art cures my soul.

Yep. Six months into the year, and I decide to put up my calendar.

This magazine always, always inspires me. I miss the old cover though.

Our new/old place for the mail (and coupons to grab
when we're out the door since I always forget!)

Abby's favorite snack of the moment. Green apples.

Rocky's favorite nap spot.

My favorite cereal (for now)

My all time favorite nude polishes (Essie's Sand Tropez is missing).

I have missed you!

Oh me oh my, I suck. I have abandoned my lovely blog for far too long. But, sometimes things happen life that just gets a hold of you, and you get so caught up in other things. The past few weeks have been something. Highs, to very lows. I don't want to get too into it because, I am still here, and have over came the obstacles, yet again : ) I have a new job guys! I miss my friends at my old job, but I stop by from time to time to say hello. In the beginning, I had to kind of not let myself go upstairs to say hello, because it was so hard. I was having anxiety, and felt lost at my new job. But, I have been picking up the new routine, and I rarely get lost in the department anymore-- I am in the Emergency department. Yeah, busy. We see it all. I also get to do the orders for the Trauma patients/doctors. I will be in the room when they bring the patients, and be in the background as the doctors, and physician assistants do their thing. I have only seen one bloody patient. I am in no hurry. Oh! And I am now working part time hours, and second shift. From 3-1130pm. So, they'll be some days where I wont get to spend any time with my Joe Joe. But, I have to do this (I am going back to school in the Fall).

Joe, Rocky, and Abby say hello!

This weekend was a blast. I got to spend lots-o-time with my family, and had a bbq to celebrate mother's day (Dominican). Today (Happy Memorial Day!!) I spent the first half of it cleaning. I mean, REALLY cleaning. I got into the closets, got rid of a lot of stuff/junk. I enjoy throwing stuff out, or donating what's worthy. It's crazy how much junk you have in closets. I still have other things that need cleaning (a lot of laundry, eeeek!) but, it all can wait. My back is not having it. I will try to keep up with this now that I will have more time on my hands. We'll see. I think I'll have pics for the next post, I didn't plan this one, which is why I don't have any. Enjoy your week!!

These will be my last 2 weeks off from work, and I will do my best to enjoy them, and just to keep on relaxing. There is a little piece of me that is looking forward to going back, to simply be on the look out for another job, a different position. I don't like the outpatient scenario. And at that department, there is so much negativity, and no proper leadership. It often feels like you receive no support from the head, and when you feel that way, it is easy to just want to give up and feel like you're on your own. So, that's that. When you're at home, for this long, you get to close yourself off from all of the outside noise, and be one with yourself. You get to see and think clearly, and that's what I have been doing. Oh! And letting my eyebrows grow in to then revamp them.

Moving along... Here are some of my latest obsessions. Let me share them with you.

I have been into this novela. I catch up with it on Hulu. Don't judge me lmao.

This is what I have been humming. I love this group, and their two albums.

This is the series that I have been reading. I am on the second book.

And since I have been bumming it lol. These are my go to shoes.

Halloween, Candles, Dorney, Oh My!

It's the weekend before Halloween! I don't know if I have ever mentioned it on here, how much I love Halloween! It's my favorite, believe it or not. As I type this, it is snowing mush outside. You know, that snow that doesn't stick. I will not let that ruin my Saturday! I have plans of going to see Paranormal Activity 3 (say that with an English accent). I don't know why I do this to myself lol. I was scared with the first one, the second didn't do much for me. Inside of our apartment, all of the lights are off. Only light is the one from outside, which isn't much, and a fall scented candle.

Things at work have been okay. One of the trouble making co workers has been out on medical leave. She'll return on Monday, and we are all hoping for the best. Yes, there is always something going on up there, but with her gone, there has been a sense of peace. Oh, what an ugly truth.

I am feeling better. My month long period has finally ended! The heat flashes continue. My mom has let me borrow one of her fans to help with that. I might need a tiny one for my desk at work, we'll see. Anyway, I have to buy scarves and hats for the Winter weather, I also need to buy a hooded coat. My wants are other things too haha. Any excuse for some shopping right?Last week my cousins and I went to a Halloween party hosted by one of Malvina's managers. Idk if I mentioned it but, she and her bf moved in with my parents in my old bedroom, which they rent, back in July. Things have happened and I feel like I have a love hate relationship towards her, but I won't air any of that out online.

This post will be full of random shots. Enjoy! These will all be from September's Dorney Park trip with Joe's job. My brother, his nephew, Joe and I went.

Tiny yummy cone!

My oldest bro, and Joe. They went shopping together lol. They're good friends, or "bros".

Next stop. Steel Force. Only Luis (bro's live in nephew) went on w/ me.

Free fall! The best one ever. This thing makes me cry out for Jesus! I like the green one. It takes you up slowly, then unexpectedly drops you. Again, Luis was the only one to join me. Joe hate's costers! And my bro had just eaten.

Look what was won for me!

How cute is their stamp?

This is from right now! My one of many candles.

Last but not least, a kiss from me to you!...

Chocolate and Buns?

Hey! How is everyone doing? I am alright. Let's get right to it...

Before this job at the hospital, I had been without health insurance for a very long time! We all know how expensive it can be to get coverage if your employer does not offer it. I have been taking full advantage of this. I have been following up with my pcp and got blood work (which had been years! since my last!) I am more anemic than ever! I can tell you all that much. And have been getting migraines almost every weekend for a while now. Those things make me stay in bed or in couch all day and they really suck. Luckily I am managing it all with the help of my lovely doc. who I adore! He actually seems to give a damn. I had a Cat Scan of my head and neck due to the headaches, and my past medical history. I believe that I mentioned it here a while back how I had a Cerebral Aneurysm when I was 12 years old. Today I found out just how rare those are in kids. And it brought tears to my eyes. It just reminded me how lucky I am (we all are) to be alive! I saw a Neurologist today to discuss the results of my test, and everything looks great!!!! Says I shouldn't have a need to have more testing for another 10 years : ) she answered a lot of other questions and for the first time, I met the clip that I have in my head holding it all together in there. I was like 'So that's what you look like!" lol. I'd share the picture but didn't know if any of you would want to see it.

My family is doing alright. My brother's father in law passed away about 1 week and a half ago. My family is very close to my brother's wife's family so, it affected us all. I can't wait to see her and give her a REALLY big hug! I have been wanting to go out just the two of us, and spend the day together and I don't know, just bond more. If my brother's happy, than I automatically love and respect her.

This is my month bitches! I turn 25 on the 26th. Eeeek! I am trying to figure out what I want to do that weekend. I will definitely keep you posted on that when it's either happened, or when it's concrete. You know me, I hate jinxing things. Enjoy these snap shots. Not many, but I cannot update without some eye candy. And this time, it's literal! Yum!

I love my high bun. This one was inspired by Lauren Conrad's cover of her 'Style' book.

My growing nail polish collection.

Buy your favorite tub of ice cream, and a box of cones (preferably waffle cones) and treat yourself to one or more a week! It's cheaper than hitting a stand somewhere.

Oh and how can I forget? Jersey Shore kicks off tonight! I won't be watching it until Saturday though. But I will be fist pumping right along with you guys in my dreams! (Yeah, I go to bed early lol)

A Superstitious Midwife

I tend to deny the fact that I am superstitious. But I am. And that's the honest truth. For example; whenever people ask me "Hey, how's the new job? Do you like it?" I act all cool about it, and say "Yeah, it's cool." In reality I feel like saying; It's great! It's a change that I am glad I made! I enjoy my office mate oh so much, she's the best! Now, that wasn't that hard. I guess I feel like if I said those words, that I would jinx it. No more of that. Okay, I'll try. If I am happy, I will say it, damn it!

Being there I have realized a few things. I mentioned it on Twitter today, how there's a nurse that tends to treat older hispanic patients terribly! I understand people have bad days, but it's happened a couple of times now, and I have only been there for 1 month. When it happened I was so hurt for that old man. I honestly see my parents whenever I see older people. So, I treat them as I would want my parents to be treated, with respect. There's still a lot of racism out there, and it's sad. But, I remind myself that not everyone is like that :)

That brings me to my next point. I have decided to change my major---officially! I have mentioned before that I wasn't sure if Psychology was what I wanted to pursue. I mean, I know that I want to help people, but how? I considered education, but wasn't too excited about it. Lord knows how much I have prayed about this. The other night after tossing and turning and finally being able to fall asleep, I saw the words "Midwife", and I woke up with a huge smile, and a racing heart. I knew that's what I wanted to be, and it's funny, how it was always in front of my face. I love pregnancy, and helping women, educating them on the subject, and always said that if I did pursue nursing, I'd want to work for a OBGYN. So there ya go. I can't wait until the Fall!

Watch SNL tonight! Briana's booski (and my ex, lol) will be hosting ;) I hope you're all well. Pictures on my next post!

30 Days Song Challenge/ Day 06: A Song that Reminds You of Somewhere

This song reminds me of the Bronx and spending that Summer of '95 and many others out there with my extended family. This song is still one of my favorites, and I can't help but to sing along every single time that it comes on. But yeah, me tengo que irrrrrrr lol.

30 Day Song Challenge: Day 03/ A Song that Makes You Happy

This song always makes me want to dance when I hear it! It's not new and honestly, it will never get old for me. The beat is crazy and I enjoy the video not just because it was filmed in the Dominican Republic ;) I just like the colors and all of the women in it are beautiful as well.

Today went by super quick! I don't know if it was just me. I went and got another massage in the hospital in honor of Nurse's Week (for free!) and it was better this time around. I am sticking to eating the lunches that I bring. It was hurting my body and my check, eating from the cafe! Enjoy the day, it's been a lovely one here. I hope to update with pictures for Friday. Ciao! *

Work, Rain, and Polish

Hello! It is now May! I know my boyfriend is probably hoping that with the end of April, comes the end of the rain. But nope! It's predicted to rain for the entire week lol. I don't mind it though, I enjoy the rain and the way it forces most people to stay off of the streets and relax and not do anything. Well, me anyway lol. Then I get the "It's raining? Oh well, still time to ____ (insert outdoor task)"

I am now, two weeks in at my new job. And I must admit, that as scared as I was to be doing something new, I am happy with my decision. I am slowly turning into a morning person! Gasp! I would always be grumpy and not in the mood, but going to bed at 9pm and waking up at 6am is not as bad as I thought it would be. We tend to be so busy at work, that time just flies by. I did however go to my old full time job's annual banquet last Thursday. It was very interesting. The food wasn't too good in my opinion, but then again I am battling a cold, so it could've been that. I left right after the main speaker did her thang. It was nearing my bed time, and I knew that if I stayed 'til the end, I would've been kicking myself on the ass the next day. This Wednesday, I'll be going back there for about 2.5 hours. That'll be my Wednesday routine. It may not be a great amount of money, but I have plans with that extra income.

Here are some pictures that I have snapped with my phone, over the last two weeks. Enjoy!

--------------------------------------------------------

The sign that you see at my job as you walk out of the elevator.

As employees we each are "CEO's" of something. I haven't been assigned anything yet. But, there's this lady that's in charge of keeping the work enviroment "fun", and she had us guessing how many things were in the egg, I guessed 35 and there were 37, I won. And, then there were these eggs in random places, you'd match the number to the prize and get something work, office related, like pens, pads, etc.

This chinese spot is yummY! Reminds me of food court from the mall chinese. I don't like chinese food anymore, I only like the mall kind. It's different. So, I enjoyed this. And the place was pretty, and there were actual waiters.

Myself, on Thursday, after the banquet. I curled my hair, and pinned it to the side.

Waiting for Joe to come to bed. Yeah, we still need night stands "/

Nail polish of last week. It's from F21 about 2 years old, and it lasts a long time! Got my $2.50 worth!

Spring,Scrubs, and Cake

Ah, this month has been a busy one. I have been preparing for my new job, which I actually have orientation for at the hospital tomorrow. It's classroom setting, and they'll provide us with lunch. My first official day will be on Tuesday. New bedtime? 9 pm--Eeek! But, I'm happy for TiVo lol.

I thank God for having blessed me with great bosses and co workers throughout the years. Many of them that have really cared about me, and vice versa. On Thursday they had a lunch for me. Turkey wraps, and other kinds of wraps, pasta salad, fruit salad, juice, and the best of all, my co worker had a red velvet cake made for me. They also signed a card for me, and my boss handed me an envelope which had a $50 Red Lobster gift card inside (they know me too well!) Friday was my last day, and all that I did was clean the office that was mine for the past 3 years 1/2. When I first got to it it was a mess! But, I left it in great condition. When I left I personally said bye to each and every staff member. Shared hugs and memories. My work mom, the one that had the cake made for me even teared up. If I hadn't cried and let it all out a few weeks ago, I would've been a mess! But, it was time. I will still be there on Wednesday evenings, for a short amount of time. In all honesty, I love the co workers, work, the cause, and most of the clients. I won't start back up until May.

I have been shopping for scrubs, and I bought a decent amount. Best believe I will be putting those on my taxes next year lol. I hope everyone is doing well, and enjoying the weather. It's been raining, but what else is expected for the month of April? I don't mind it one bit!

Here are some pictures! Enjoy!

Spring is here!

And look who's diving head first into it--Rocky!

Full Circle

Hey! I am getting better at blogging more frequently right? RIGHT? That's what I thought! Lol, don't mind me, I've been acting all "hard" and "tough" lately, for no reason haha.

Happy Monday! Mine was pretty eventful, slowly catching up on all of my paper work at my job. I have been seeing a lot of clients lately! A lot of my first time clients have been coming in for pregnancy tests and it really feels like we've come full circle.

I got a new job. That's what I was talking about in my last entry. I had the interview when I blogged last. And the day after, I got word that my references were being called. Luckily they all said great things about me. I will be working at the town's hospital. Full time hours, no holidays or weekends, and full benefits. That is what I am the most excited about. BENEFITS BABY! It's all very very bittersweet. I love my job, I love the cause, but some things just weren't the same, and I think God was kind of nudging me to go out and look for something else. I will be there 1 night a week though, because it's not about the money when it comes to that place. It really isn't. But, I have life plans that called for more money and other perks. We'll see how everything goes. But I trust in God (I am a very spiritual person if you haven't guessed). On Saturday I had to go and get my digital finger prints taken, they've upgraded I see lol, no more messy ink. Today, I went and had a drug test, urine test, blood work, and a hep shot, since I only got 2 dozes instead of the 3, whoops! My left arm feels all sorts of jacked-up-ness right now.

Now, join me while I do a victory dance... Wooooooo Wooooooo lol. Thanks for humoring me.

This weekend we are off to New York to help celebrate hub's nephew/our god son's 3rd birthday. We got him some kicks and clothes. My parents get back this Saturday, and they'll come back with us on Sunday. Oh! I finally finished reading the book The Glass House, and I cried at the end of it "/ yes people, I Cindia, am a softy lol. Don't take me to see sad movies because you'll be like Really?! haha. Maybe I'll do a quick review of the book? Have a blessed week my loves! And thanks for all of the comments on my previous entry!

I was driving today and saw this guy busting some moves. He was dressed as Lady Liberty.

My new umbrella!

Ethan's sneakers.

Got my biatches as my desktop wallpaper.

I love this wall decor. Got it from Bed Bath & Beyond on Saturday.

I saw a sign...

Lately I have been a bit stressed. Actually scratch that, it's been longer than lately, but for the last few weeks I have actually started to try and make a change. I refuse to be one of those people that always cry about wanting to win the lottery yet never ever plays it.

I have a job. I consider it part time because the most hours the office is open are 30. I love what I do, and when I tell people what I do and they get it, they fall in love with it too. But you know how it usually is, the jobs that we love, don't pay the bills that we hate. I made that saying up last night, so when you use it and say "They say..." the "They" is me, lol okay let me stop. So, I have been applying for work. Mostly part time, but if there is a full time that I am interested in, I go for it. I have placed it in God's hands. He will lead me and take me where I am to go, if I am to go somewhere. Next week I will go to a clerical agency and apply, that way they can be on the look out, instead of me having to do it all the time.

I gave a heads up to my lovely co worker yesterday since we are the only 2 full time counselors. She was like "Oh my goodness don't tell me that Cindia, you can't leave. I don't want you to." And about 10 minutes after we spoke about it, I got a buzz on my phone in the office and I answered, it was boss lady saying how as of January 1st our office will be offering their full time employees health insurance (which is a major reason as to why I want to find another job, to be able to afford some). It was really hard for me not to laugh. God is amazing, and He has showed that to me on MANY MANY occasions, one being the fact that I wake up every morning. Now, that still doesn't get my bills paid but it's a step up. I wonder if it's not my time to part from my work place. None the less I will still apply for part time jobs. After all, school ends on the 9th and I doubt that I'll be able to attend the Spring semester because I have a balance to pay "/

We'll see what the next few days, weeks or ever months hold. I will definitely keep you updated! Wish my luck!

Random as they come;

This weekend is one that I have been looking forward to for weeks! It's Dominican's Mother's Day on Sunday. Family from the Bronx and New Jersey are coming down. We are having a BBQ at my parent's house. Saturday, we are going down to Philly and go to the Zoo. I have been dying to go there! I just pray that rain doesn't ruin our plans. It's just the my main family going. My brothers (2) and their girl/wife, my cousin Richard, and hubby and I. I will definitely be taking my camera. I hope to post those on here as well.

Hubby is being lazy and is taking tomorrow off. He's lucky because he has Friday and Monday off so he has a really long weekend, that bastard lol. But he deserves it, he's tired. His work is no joke.

As for me, I will be in charge at work tomorrow and Friday, so I made sure that my schedule was a light one. One of my co workers' brother passed away last year on the 27th so she's going to spend it with her family. And a different co worker's mother is seriously ill. We're just praying for her and her family. If you pray, keep her in your prayers.

This blog will be random (as myself) and it's really undefined. Imma use it as I please : ) I just hope to figure out how to enable comments, I have tried everything! "/

Ciao!
